Recorded at Stellive, [Duology] is a live recording album released by Korean saxophonist and a composer Soojung Lee and Korean pianist Jaehun Kang. It is a project that contains the sounds of various textures from just two instruments by showing a sophisticated interplay that comes from listening to each other’s language, responding quickly, and sometimes veering outside the simple frame of ‘a melodic instrument and accompanist’. Robust original compositions, six by Soojung and one by Jaehun, anchor the duo’s explorations with nuance and suggestion, while one track ‘Some of the Things are Yours’ is entirely improvised.
